Our Communities
BRENTWOOD
Brentwood NH is a friendly, rural community of about 5,000 residents. It is a small town with rolling hills, dense forests and beautiful rivers and streams. With little commercial development, Brentwood is primarily a bedroom community to Exeter, Portsmouth and Manchester, and appreciated for its quiet, easy going atmosphere. Whether you are an avid gardener, an outdoor sports enthusiast or more inclined to enjoy a lively book discussion, there is a diverse array of clubs and organizations to connect with like-minded people. Many residents enjoy fishing and canoeing along the Exeter River, and exploring trails while hiking, biking and cross country skiing in the Split Rock Conservation Area. The property tax rate (2024: $23.53) is a little higher than many Seacoast towns, but here, you have one of the most highly regarded public school systems (SAU 16); students attend Swasey Central School for pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade, Cooperative Middle School for grades six through eight, and Exeter High School for grades nine through twelve.
