EAST KINGSTON
East Kingston NH is a charming town with about 2,500 residents who are committed to maintaining its rural character. The Conservation Commission has successfully preserved large parcels of land to protect its agricultural heritage. East Kingston is a bedroom community to Exeter, Portsmouth and Newburyport (just over the MA border), offering a quiet, easy going lifestyle...and a convenient homebase for commuting to Boston. The town is home to Apple Hill Golf Course, many trails for hiking, biking and snowmobiling, and natural areas for hunting, fishing and canoeing. Its property tax rate (2024, $25.19) is on par with adjacent towns. East Kingston is part of the Exeter Region Cooperative School District (SAU 16), where children benefit from the combined resources of its six participating towns. Students attend East Kingston Elementary School (Kindergarten thru grade five), Cooperative Middle School (grades six through eight) and Exeter High School (grades nine through twelve).
