Kensington
Kensington NH is a small, rural town with over 2,100 residents. It is a bedroom community to Exeter, Portsmouth and Newburyport (just over the MA border), and appreciated for its old-fashioned values. Here, you’ll find many farms, woodlands, wetlands and rolling pastures...with appropriately named roads such as Stumpfield, Wild Pasture, Drinkwater, Hemlock, Juniper and Muddy Pond. The crown jewel of Kensington is Alnoba, a ‘unique meeting and event venue to reflect, connect and create change’, known for its exceptional leadership programs, set on 400 beautiful acres. Just down the way, The Farm at Eastman’s Corner is a lovely spot to enjoy lunch or shop for dinner. Sawyer Park is undoubtedly the town’s most popular place for families to gather...the 30-acre parcel includes a playground, skateboard park, bandstand, pavilion and sports fields and courts. The property tax rate (2024: $13.15) is on the lighter side for towns that are part of the Exeter Region Cooperative School District (SAU 16). Students attend Kensington Elementary School (preschool through grade five), Cooperative Middle School (grades six through eight) and Exeter High School (grades nine through twelve).
