North Hampton
North Hampton NH is a gorgeous seaside community with about 5,000 residents. A drive along Ocean Boulevard (Route 1A) offers one of the most scenic vistas in New England. While the town has a beautiful state beach, its most notable landmarks are the iconic oceanfront mansions of Little Boars Head and pastoral equestrian properties at Runnymede Farm (once home to Kentucky Derby winner Dancer’s Image). North Hampton is adjacent to the bustling community of Hampton, but it is much less touristy...in fact, the only commercial activity near the state beach is the seasonal Beach Plum restaurant (with the biggest lobster rolls around!). Most of the action in town is along Route 1, where you’ll find shopping centers and restaurants. North Hampton offers a wonderful small-town lifestyle with many lovely homes in quiet neighborhoods tucked behind the main roads...it is a great place to start a family, upsize to that dream home or retire in comfort. The property tax rate (2024: $12.45) is quite reasonable. As part of School Administrative Unit (SAU) 21, students attend the highly-rated North Hampton School from grades one through eight, and Winnacunnet High School in Hampton for grades nine through twelve.
